Personalized Newborn Photography in San Diego
As a top-rated newborn photographer serving both Carlsbad and San Diego families, I specialize in capturing timeless, natural images in my cozy North County studio.
-
The ideal time for a newborn session is when your baby is between 7 to 15 days old — a stage when they are naturally sleepy, flexible, and comfortable in those cozy, curled-up poses that are both safe and developmentally appropriate.
-
Your baby’s safety is always my top priority. I am a certified, top-rated newborn photographer, fully trained in safe posing and handling techniques. I am also up to date on all vaccinations recommended for working with newborns.
-
Sessions are held in my warm, welcoming studio in San Diego, thoughtfully designed specifically for newborn photography. At this time, I do not offer in-home sessions.
-
To ensure availability, I recommend booking during your second trimester. Once booked, your due date will be added to my calendar. After your baby arrives, please notify me within three days of birth, and we’ll confirm the session date.
-
All newborn sessions begin at 9:30–10:00 AM, when babies tend to be most settled and content.

San Diego Newborn Session FAQ
When is the best time to book my newborn photography session? We strongly recommend reaching out during your pregnancy — anytime from when you first find out you’re expecting up to active labor — to begin the booking process. A deposit will secure your spot, and we’ll mark your due date on our calendar to stay updated as your pregnancy progresses. While we do our best to accommodate last-minute newborn sessions, our schedule fills up quickly, making early booking the best way to guarantee availability. Once you’re on the schedule, you’ll receive priority when your baby arrives, and we’ll plan to photograph your newborn within the first two weeks after birth. If your baby has already arrived, please don’t hesitate to contact us — we always try to fit in new inquiries whenever possible.
How can I get ready for my newborn photography session? To help your session run smoothly, we provide a helpful preparation guide. You will receive this the day before your appointment with tips and recommendations to get ready for the big day.
Should I bring any props or accessories to the session? No need to bring anything — we provide a wide variety of props, including blankets, numerous baskets, accessories, toys and flowers , and lots of beautiful headbands and hats! However, if you have special items or meaningful accessories you’d like included, please feel free to bring them. We love incorporating personal touches into your session! What steps should I take after my baby is born? Once your little one arrives, we recommend having someone contact us right away to schedule your session. For the best sleepy, curled-up newborn poses, sessions are ideally scheduled within the first 14 days after birth. If you’re breastfeeding, it’s best to wait until your milk has come in (usually around 7-10 days) so your baby is well-fed and comfortable. Bottle-fed babies often feed more at once, so they can be photographed as early as 4-5 days old.
Are siblings and family members able to join the newborn session? Absolutely! We can start on taking pictures of family with a baby and with siblings and as soon as we done siblings can be free, and then we will be fully focusing on your newborn. We suggest bringing siblings with your newborn together and as soon as we done with taking pictures of them they can be free and they won’t have to wait the entire time in the studio.
How long does a typical newborn photo session last? It will depend on your package and on baby's sleep. Some babies sleep more and some less. Our newborn sessions typically last about 2-3 hours. This allows ample time for soothing, posing, feeding, and setting up each shot with care. If you have multiples, the session may take a bit longer.
Are pets allowed to join the newborn session? Yes! Pets are family members too!
