Featuring our 3-week-old little star
At Irina Dream Photography, every session is a blend of artistry and care—but above all, it’s guided by one core principle: safety. Our most recent photoshoot with a beautiful 3-week-old baby girl is a perfect example of how newborn photography can be both stunning and secure.
As a fully trained newborn photographer based in San Diego, I ensure that every pose, every prop, and every moment is created with the baby’s comfort and safety as the highest priority.
Let me walk you through this dreamy session and show you how safety and creativity come together to create timeless art.
1. Wrapped in Warmth and Love

This image captures the baby safely swaddled in a warm, soft wrap on top of a natural wool curly layer. The entire setup was cushioned with layers to provide the perfect support. Her relaxed expression and cozy toes show just how comfortable she was. Wrapping is not only adorable—it’s a proven way to help newborns feel secure, similar to how they felt in the womb.
2. Dreaming in Bloom

This heart-shaped prop setup combines aesthetics with gentle support. The bowl is padded with multiple layers of soft fabrics, and the baby is wrapped snugly to prevent sudden movements. Her head is carefully positioned using a small posing pillow underneath the wrap for optimal neck alignment. Every element in this image is placed with intention—not just to look beautiful but to keep her safe.
3. That Perfect Smile

This moment is one of our favorites. The baby is on a firm yet soft posing table, supported by an ergonomic pillow. She’s dressed in a lace romper that allows free movement without compromising warmth or comfort. Her tiny hands were gently guided into place, never forced—just softly settled as she naturally relaxed into sleep. Capturing a genuine smile like this is a gift, and it’s only possible when the baby feels truly comfortable and secure.
4. A Melodic Pose on the Baby Grand

Our new kid-size white grand piano prop is already a studio favorite. For this pose, the baby was positioned on a firm cushion layered with soft knits for both support and safety. The pose was achieved with gentle transitions while the baby slept deeply. One hand was always on her body during the setup, and a spotter (my assistant or a parent) was just out of frame at all times to ensure she was never left unattended—a key rule in newborn photography.
5. Floral Comfort & Cozy Curls

This setup is a mix of elegance and simplicity. She’s wrapped in a coral stretchy wrap that gently holds her arms and legs in a natural fetal position. She’s placed on a thick padded surface under a floral printed cover, which is stretched tightly over a posing beanbag for consistent, even support. That dreamy smile? A result of total comfort and safety.
6. Floating Among Flowers

This floral hoop may look magical—but rest assured, it’s all grounded in secure technique. The swing is low to the ground and stabilized from multiple points. The baby is surrounded by layers of padding and positioned securely. For added safety, this shot was composed with hands-on posing and edited in post-processing to ensure no risk was taken.
Why Safety is Everything in Newborn Photography
Babies are delicate and need constant support. At my San Diego studio, I use specialized props, professional posing aids, and gentle techniques that never put pressure on joints, airways, or spines.
✅ Hands are always nearby
✅ No pose is forced
✅ All setups are clean, soft, and padded
✅ Babies are kept warm and swaddled when needed
✅ Sessions are baby-led: we pause for feeding, cuddling, or breaks anytime
Final Thoughts
This session reminded me why I love what I do. Capturing such pure, peaceful moments in a baby's life is a responsibility I never take lightly. Every photo you see was carefully planned, every pose was monitored, and every smile was earned through comfort and calmness.
If you’re looking for a safe, warm, and loving newborn photography experience in San Diego, Irina Dream Photography would be honored to welcome your little one into the studio.
Let’s capture the beauty of this fleeting time—safely, gently, and beautifully.
Warmly,Irina KhachianIrina Dream Photographywww.irinadreamphotography.com
